8 year/unlimited km high voltage battery warranty terms and conditions

The Chery New Vehicle 7-year/unlimited kilometres Warranty commences on the day your new vehicle is first registered. If you purchase a demonstrator vehicle, the warranty begins when the vehicle is registered by your Chery Dealer. You are entitled to the balance of the warranty coverage period.

The high-voltage battery supplied with the vehicle comes with an 8-year/unlimited* kilometre warranty from the date of delivery to the original purchaser when the vehicle is first registered. The warranty will also apply if the net residual energy capacity of the high-voltage battery falls below 70% relative to the energy capacity at the time of delivery, over the course of the warranty period. This is subject to an energy capacity measurement carried out at an authorised Chery Motor Australia dealer, and is at the sole discretion of Chery Motor Australia. If the high-voltage battery requires warranty repair, Chery Motor Australia will repair the battery, or replace it with a new, reconditioned or remanufactured part at the sole discretion of Chery Motor Australia.

The warranty replacement may not restore the vehicle to a "like new" condition, but when replacing a high-voltage battery, Chery Motor Australia will ensure that the energy capacity of the replacement high-voltage battery is at least equal to that of the original high-voltage battery before the failure occurred while taking into consideration other factors, including the age and mileage of the vehicle.

The warranty for the high-voltage battery will not apply if; the defect or damage including the excessive loss of capacity has resulted from unapproved modification to parts or to vehicle software from original specification, improper use, handling or maintenance of the battery, including from a traffic accident or if the battery has come into contact with open flames or liquids such as high pressure water, floods or steam cleaning and intentionally attempting to increase or reduce the life of the battery whether by physical or programming means. This also comprises the failure to follow instructions applying to the operation, treatment and care of the charging or state of charge of the high-voltage battery described in the Owner's manual suppled with the vehicle. Exclusions also apply if the high-voltage battery has been permanently removed or is no longer operated in conjunction with the vehicle.

This high-voltage battery, like all batteries, will experience gradual energy or power loss with time and use. Loss of battery energy or power over time due to or resulting from battery usage is NOT covered under this warranty, except to the extent specified in this warranty.
